Tinker Bell Fairy Party

Samantha's 3.  I can hardly believe it.  But, disbelief aside, it's party time!  This year, it's Tinker Bell.  Tinker Bell this, Tinker Bell that, so Tinker Bell party.  Of course.

the invitation

Choosing the pictures from our fairly successful photo shoot was probably the hardest part about making this invitation.  There were just so many adorable ones.  Of course, I'm bias.

I bought her GORGEOUS dress from Etsy seller carriecreations.  She even customized the colors to go with the party.  It's just a beautiful dress!

the cake

The base is a 2-layered 12" cake, frosted in purple.  The tree trunk is PVC wrapped in fondant.  The top is a "bowl" cake (cake baked in a glass bowl), covered in fondant leaves.  The Tinker Bell Fairy figurines were purchased at The Disney Store.  The wires they're hanging from are from Duff of Charm City Cakes new cake supplie line.  I got them at Michael's.

Guests were greeted with a "dress-up" station when they arrived.  The girls got fairy wings and wands, the boys got Peter Pan hats and knives.  Everyone got a little sprinkle of pixie dust.

The Peter Pan hats and knives.  Made entirely of felt, so no eyes got poked out.  I found the tutorial for these at Make It and Love It.

Meringue Mushrooms.  There are lots of recipes for these online, but I used this one at AllRecipes.  I thought they were pretty easy to make and they were a HUGE hit!  Everyone thought they were real.

Disney/Pixar Cars Themed Movie Night

For our second Disney Family Movie Night, we watched Disney/Pixar's Cars.

The kids put on some "body art" from Ramone's before dinner.  I got the great Ramone's logo from So Wonderful, So Marvelous.

Dinner was The King's supersized burgers, Chick Hick's Chicken Sticks, Mater's Sweet 'Tater Fries, "Mack" and Cheese, Sally's Salad, and Doc's Carrot "dipsticks".

We topped off our fluids with Fillmore's Organic Fuel (apple juice) and Dinoco Oil (chocolate milk).  I got that great Fillmore logo from So Wonderful, So Marvelous.  Feel free to print both drink labels from here.

For dessert we enjoyed Lightning McQueen race-cars.  The strawberry represents his tongue.  lol

Oh no!  McQueen blew a tire (or 3)!

fun & games

 After dinner we used our "road" table runner to play balloon cars. 

The winner(s) got their very own Piston Cup with a little chocolate inside.

Disney's Tangled Themed Movie Night

We'll be enjoying our first family trip to Walt Disney World in May.  To pass the time, we're having a Disney movie night every week until we leave.  We celebrated today's release of Tangled with our first movie night.

Also found on the Disney Family.com website, a 3D Pascal.  The kids each colored one and I cut them out and glued them together.

dinner

Going along with our Tangled theme, we had angel HAIR pasta, a loaf of BRAIDED bread and Pascal peppers (mostly green, some red) with ranch dressing.  Another great meal idea... Hazelnut soup!  It's Rapunzel's favorite.  Soup is, however, not a favorite around or house, which is why we went with the pasta.

dessert

For dessert we had gorgeous "boats on water".  Reminiscent of that pivotal trip Flynn and Rapunzel took to see the glowing lanterns gleam.  The water is blue jell-o, the boats, orange slices.  I got this great idea from Supermom Moments.  Another great dessert idea, blondies, one of Flynn's nicknames for Rapunzel.  Or anything with apples, since they're Maximus' favorite treat.

Flynn's wanted posters where all over.  I just couldn't get his nose right though.

Over the TV, I placed a "baby" picture of Rapunzel, with a tiara I'd purchased at the dollar store.  The tiara was going to be used for a "hide the tiara" game, but it was a school night and the movie ended a little too late. 

Draped over the TV is a braid made of yarn.  I decroated it with flowers, just as the little girls did in the town square.

On either side of the TV (as well as over the dinner table), I hung paper lanterns.  I got these from Disney Family.com as well.

Not pictured, is the town's Sun Banner.  I got the template from Supermom Moments.
